Fostering a Specialized and Improved Workforce

As a small business owner, there is seemingly no end to your challenges. Finding, fostering, maintaining and growing your talent can often seem more cumbersome than producing and selling your product. The days of one man/one job for 30 years and then retiring are long gone. People are moving and shifting and as a business owner or hiring manager you need to be cognizant of this. Enter the Professional Employer Organization, or PEO.  When you are trying to push boundaries with your small business, whether it is a company of 5 or 500, you may find the need for an employee leasing company.

You may have heard the term “PEO” used in passing and never really thought much about it. A PEO can actually be just the thing you need to get your product and distribution to the next level by eliminating some of the more benign portions of doing business. Also known as employee leasing companies, PEOs really do the job of stepping in and stopping the bleeding when they are needed and bowing out when they are not. A PEO simply can help your business cut through the clutter. By streamlining your operations a PEO will help enhance the workflow of the primary partners. The flow of ideas and creation are obviously hindered when there are hindrances before you. PEOs remove obstacles and help elevate creation.

If your company is Venus de Milo, then a PEO would be the missing arms. To be fair to modern standards, maybe the compliance portion of a PEO would be the missing blouse. Rather than sitting up late, sifting through scores of poor resumes and cover letters trying to fill a vacant slot, PEOs are able to take stock of what you are looking for and get you the help you need.  One arm of the employee leasing companies’ strategy recruits the help you are looking for during intermittent periods. PEOs also are able to help you staff the role more permanently by sifting through those resumes for you.

The smaller your business the more tasks fall on fewer shoulders. If you are contracted out with a legitimate PEO, you can rest assured that many of the less than thrilling issues which are required by law to be tended to are done so with your best interests at heart. Insurance, HR outsourcing, payroll and payroll taxes, finance, and risk management are just to a few of the areas where PEOs really shine.

Any reputable PEO will not only take ownership of whatever tasks you bestow on them, they will view your hiring them as an alliance. Boiled down to its simplest form, a PEO is an employee leasing company which can help to foster a more specialized and improved workforce. More work done in less time? What small business owner could argue with that? With all that extra time at the end of the day you may even be inclined to take a vacation!
